A fascinating hotel on a hill high above Zuoz, integrating art, architecture, cuisine and well-being into a pleasurable holiday experience. The hotel combines the charm of a historic grand hotel with modern architecture and a renowned collection of contemporary art including works by Roman Signer, Fischli-Weiss, Pipilotti Rist, Carsten Höller, Martin Kippenberger and many others. In close liaison with the artists themselves, the hotel provides an impressive backdrop for artistic structures and other initiatives.
Rooms and junior suites (20-40m2) have views of the Alpine meadow or the Inn River valley. Room facilities include climate control, a satellite flat-screen TV, DVD player, safe, and work desk. Bathrooms come with robes, a hairdryer and complimentary toiletries.
The nearly hundred-year-old dining room of the Hotel Castell is a piece of art. Beneath the impressive stucco ceiling of the historic dining room, our guests enjoy a classy yet uncomplicated dinner. Sit in the “Jägerstübli”, designed by Gerda Steiner and Jörg Lenzlinger to experience a particularly wondrous décor. The sensual Red Bar, designed by Zurich architect Gabrielle Hächler and multimedia artist Pipilotti Rist is open for coffee to cocktails.
The fabulous hammam, rock water sauna and wooden terrace was designed by Tadashi Kawamata. The hammam offers several certified massages and treatments. The hotel offers a range of outdoor activities, summer and winter including ski in-ski out.
