Sanderson, one of London's first design hotels is set in a landmark 1950s building just off Oxford Street and has been transformed by Philippe Starck into a surreal Cocteau-like dream world, epitomising a new luxury that is smart, pared-down and tempered with a healthy dose of wit and irony.
The spacious rooms have been updated and boast fantastic London views, HD TVs, Egyptian cotton sheets and luxury bathrooms.
The restaurant serves globally inspired seasonal cuisine that combines inventive technique and the best ingredients with classic British favourites and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Purple Bar is draped with purple silk curtains and offers drinks and classic cocktails. The 25-metre (80 feet) long chic Long Bar serves platters to share and has regular DJ nights. In summer, the courtyard terrace is open for drinks and meals. Afternoon tea.
Over 9,000 square metres, the luxurious Agua Spa offers a huge array of relaxing treatments behind its soft white curtains. The modern, 24-hour gym is lined with video screens and complimentary bicycles are available.
