Nestled between the Pyrenees and the ocean, just a few kilometres from Biarritz is Arguibel, a luxury boutique hotel set in an intimate manor home behind a neo-Basque façade. Inside, lime and turquoise walls, regal roll-top baths, disco-shiny mosaic tiles and psychedelic Louis-XV chairs are just some of the eye-popping details that make this boutique hotel a design rhapsody. An unforgettable stay awaits with personalised service, a chic and relaxed atmosphere and original moments in a beautiful setting.
Each of the villa’s five rooms has been designed with a particular theme in mind. Guest rooms have true character and they know how to show it, with an eclectic mix of modern art and antique furniture. A king-size bed, minibar, private terrace, iPod dock and free bottled water come as standard in each room. Some also have a lounge and TVs are on request.
The elegant first-floor lobby and lounge with its vibrant, quirky, and mod-inflected furniture provides the setting for a perfect breakfast which includes fresh fruit, little pots of yoghurt, just-baked brioche, bread and pastries, and wonderful coffee. The lounge opens up onto a wide view of the garden and its beautiful terrace where breakfast is served in summer.
Cone chairs and low Verner Panton tables furnish the old-meets-new bar, which has a 1930s-style polished wooden counter and serves fruit juices, wine and champagne in the after noon. At other times, a help-yourself honesty bar operates. There is no restaurant as such, but this being the Basque country, many star studded restaurants are nearby.
