This is what a Ibis hotel should look like. Just a matter of designing things differently. The brand-new Pantone is a basic comfortable hotel, simply decorated. What makes it different that rooms and public area are 'decorated' with splashes of colour from the Pantone catalogue, a sort of colour bible to designers. Downstairs there is just one open area containing reception, lounge and breakfast area. Upstairs are the 59 rooms. My room was tiny, but the simple decor, views and access to a roof terrace made it feel larger. The bed was very, very comfortable. If you are with two I should opt for a larger room. Price-quality is excellent. Bathroom was tiny too and not very exciting. Duravit and Grohe fixtures worked perfectly though. I really enjoyed the Pantone. This proves a budget hotel can be a design hotel. It's not a grand example, but in it's class perfect.
