The Wildman Wilderness Lodge cabins may give some visitors a sense of déjà vu: after the closure of Wrotham Park Station in the Cairns hinterland, its lodge infrastructure was transported 2,800 kilometres to the Mary River Wetlands.
The 10 air-conditioned cabins salvaged from Wrotham offer luxurious accommodation. They come with air conditioning, luxury bedding and premium fixtures. There are also 10 double safari tents and five family tents sleeping up to four. All the tents have ceiling fans and en-suite bathrooms.
Three-course dinners and full breakfasts are included in the price and are served at the very stylish homestead. Guests can dine on seasonal Australian produce, including barramundi, buffalo and crocodile. There is also a diverse wine selection to accompany the menu. Picnic lunches can be arranged.
Wildman Wilderness Lodge also has a bar, a swimming pool and a furnished deck with fire pit. The tour desk offers stunning wildlife and birdlife tours, such as Mary River Wetlands cruises, Kakadu National Park tours and Leichhardt Point sunset tours. Private touring options are also available.
