Mama Shelter Marseille
Mama Shelter is a hip hotel located in Marseille's arty Cours Julien neighbourhood. It features an off-beat decor with the lobby being a crazy Alice in Wonderland pastiche of distended tables, chairs morphing into wooden sofas, and swirling calligraphy on walls and ceilings. Rooms measure between 15 sq m (161 sq ft) and 45 sq m (484 sq ft) and come with full-length mirrors, low-slung furniture, a brightly coloured palette and plenty of natural light. The restaurant by Alain Senderens has a mod-Med menu of octopus stew and sea-bream cerviche.
