Hidden away on a tiny street with the same name in the Marais is the Hôtel Bourg Tibourg. Designed by the master of re-creating French historic ambience, Jacques Garcia, the hotel is a chic bolt hole with a plethora of design elements, such as stripes, fringe, animal prints, chandeliers, engravings, Arabic and Oriental details, etc, etc. Lavish is the word. The metro station around the corner brings all of Paris at your footstep.
The seductive guest rooms are equipped with the requisite modern amenities, including air conditioning, wireless Internet, king size beds, direct-dial telephone, safe, and B&O flatscreen cable/satellite television and DVD player. Bathroom are equipped with a large bathtub, complimentary beauty products by Costes, hairdyer, mosaics and black granite on the floor. Rooms either overlook the charming little street or the quiet courtyard at the back. Some rooms, including the suite, can be interconnected.
Breakfast is served in the cellar resembling a medieval castle or in the guest rooms untill noon. There is a choice of pastries, baguettes, fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee and tea, fat-free yogurt, fresh fruits, cereal, muesli and organic eggs.
The hotel does not have an on-site restaurant, but there are a number of options for an aperitif or glass of champagne at Bourg Tibourg. There's a small courtyard, a cosy library-like foyer, and a series of spaces in the cellar. Not to mention the fact that the surrounding Marais neighbourhood is disproportionately blessed with cafes, bars, restaurants and tea rooms.
