Just a few minutes walk from Peter Zumthor's world famous Therme Vals (reduced entry price) is the family-run Hotel Alpina, located on the picturesque village square. In 2006, the hotel and guest house was completely renovated by a local Grisons architect.
The designer rooms in the main house feature crafted bright wooden furniture by local carpenters, king-sized-beds, and TV. Bathrooms have showers made of Valser Quarzit-stone, toilet and a hairdyer. Some standard and comfort rooms are located in the annex (50 metres walk) and have shower, toilet and TV.
The first floor restaurant serves local specialities made from fresh, organic products such as organic local beef from Hof Leis, local game, trout from the valley streams in early summer and local lamb. Local Grisons wines complement your meal. The Alpina also features a traditional Swiss tavern and bar with a terrace on the village square. A breakfast buffet is included in the room price.
