Volkshotel Amsterdam is set in the former 1960's headquarters from one of The Netherland's leading newspapers Volkskrant (People's Newspaper). Located in the East district, 50m from metro station Wibautstraat and Amstel River it is a creative hub that includes studios for designers and music producers, work places and meeting rooms.
Hotel rooms features an artistic 'raw' décor. Room facilities include a flat-screen TV, safe and private bathroom with a bath and/or shower and hairdryer. Nine rooms were set aside to give Dutch creatives such as Eva van Halewijn, Remco Gonggrijp and Thijs van Oostveen free rein over the interiors.
The rooftop restaurant/club 'Canvas' has a terrace offering a panoramic view over Amsterdam. Healthy meals are served, made with locally sourced ingredients. The club regularly features live music events in the evenings. On the ground floor is the grand café bar 'Werkplaats'.
