Built in 1906 as the Palace Hotel, The Swatch Art Peace Hotel is a cutting-edge design hotel located on the famous Bund. Bold new contemporary interiors complement the original Victorian facade and restored details, such as the Jacobean staircase. Unique rooms and suites (40 to 250m2) on the fourth floor have designer furnishings, a flat-screen cable TV, writing desk and seating area. The modern and ample bathrooms come with complimentary toiletries, a bathtub and rain showers. The hotel's restaurant and bar "Shook!" serves a creative fusion of Chinese and Western dishes, while drinks can be enjoyed on the rooftop terrace. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from East Nanjing Road metro station and a 10-minute subway ride from Oriental Tower. People’s Square, Shanghai Museum and Shanghai Art Museum in the city centre are a 10-minute stroll away.
