After extensive renovations, the Hotel De Londres in the historic and car-free Old Town of Brig has reopened. The 18 simply designed rooms and suites are home to a softly lit palette, exuding a relaxed ambiance. Scrubbed and oiled wooden floors, pristine linens and geometric headboards add Swiss flavour and attic suites reflect the surrounding landscape with pitched roofs constructed from Larch and Fir. Private bathrooms have white subway tiles and come with complimentary toiletries. Guests are encouraged to mingle in the clubhouse-style lounge, where there is an honesty bar, a fully equipped shared kitchen, library and a terrace overlooking the town square.
• 18 rooms
• Hotel opened: August 2015
• Architecture & Interiors: Atelier Zurich
• Unique: First opened in 1884, the property once played host to aristocratic Englishmen (hence its name) fuelling up before braving the Alps.
