Palazzo Dama is a new luxury boutique hotel located along Rome's Tiber River just off the Ponte Regina Margherita and two streets over from the Piazza del Popolo. The villa's well-preserved exterior giving way to interiors that blend the historic with the contemporary in a distinctive Italian style. The legacy of Palazzo Dama is steeped in the history of the Malaspina family, one of the oldest noble families in Europe and the palazzo's inhabitants for over a century. The villa was host to many high society gatherings where the family entertained diplomats, aristocrats and prominent cultural and social figures. The hotel is named to honor the dignified elegance of the aristocratic woman among the Malaspina generations. In particular, Anna Maria Malaspina, an 18th century Marquise who was admired for her refinement and recognized equally for her great many writings and poems as she was for her exuberant, playful and witty spirit.
Rooms, junior suites and suites have high ceilings and combine contemporary décor with vintage design objects, glossy coffee table books and a collection of photographs by various renowned artists. Room facilities include air conditioning, soundproofing, a flat-screen TV with Sky channels, a minibar and a marble bathroom with complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. In-room beauty and wellness treatments are offered and so is room service.
The hotel's intimate all-day restaurant serves a range of fresh, health-conscious choices, alongside a menu of international and continental fare. The L'Autre Dame cocktail bar welcomes visitors into a deep blue alcove while below, a subterranean nightclub with decadent velvet chaises.
