A block from the Santa Monica Pier and opposite Palisades Park, the Georgian Hotel is an oceanfront boutique-style hotel built in 1933. Its iconic façade is painted in a whimsical bright blue and retains much of its art deco style together with the interiors. Elegant rooms have dark wood furniture, richly colored walls and period fixtures and come with facilities including air conditioning, 24/7 room service, goose-down bedding, a flat-screen TV and iPod docking station. Bathrooms boast unique tile work and come with plush robes and designer toiletries. Selected rooms have ocean views. The hotel's Veranda Restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch and offers both inside dining and an outdoor terrace overlooking the ocean. It serves eclectic Mediterranean fusion-style dishes and a full Tapas menu. At night it turns into a "speakeasy" where drinks can be enjoyed with a history of gangsters and Hollywood's elite. There is also a gym. A pet turndown service provides a mat, water bowl, toy and treat.
