Located in National Park the Veluwe, near the town of Apeldoorn, De Echoput is a family owned luxury design hotel with a renowned historic restaurant. Set in 11,000 hectares of forests, which originally were the hunting grounds owned and used by the Dutch royal family. The hotel is named after the deep well famous for its echo, built under the reign of king Louis Napoleon, between 1809 and 1811.

Stylishly decorated, the contemporary rooms and suites (including the 70m2 tower suite) come with air conditioning, an LCD TV,minibar and a designer bathroom with duo-douche and separate toilet. All feature views over century old trees from a private balcony. With a bit of luck you can spot or hear wild boars, roebucks or deer.

The chic, modern restaurant is famous for its game-dishes, and owner Peter Klosse is well known in Holland as an expert in wine and food pairing. De Echoput also features an indoor swimming pool made of granite and filled with the hotel's own spring water, a sauna, an indoor putting green, and a small gym. Guests can enjoy the hiking and biking trails directly from the hotel.

The DNA:

A family business since 1955, restaurant de Echoput is wellknown for wine and food pairing, thanks to owner Peter Klosse, son of the founder, who shares his theory about flavour and tasting in the Multi-sensory Dining concept and cooking school. Klosse is also one of the founders of the Dutch Academy for Gastronomy and professor at the Hotel Managementschool Zuyd in Maastricht. The original restaurant was demolished in 2004, to be replaced by today's luxury complex.
