Freehand New York
Set within the 1928 original George Washington Hotel in New York's Gramercy Park, the free-spirited Freehand marks the arrival of the Sydell Group's brand in the Big Apple. Rooms range from bunks to penthouse suites while the public spaces cater for the hotel’s artistic community including the Simon & The Whale restaurant by Gabriel Stulman; the Studio Restaurant & Bar; and the George Washington Bar. The Broken Shaker boasts views over the hotel’s famous location and beyond, from which to enjoy hand-crafted cocktails and small bites. Custom-commissioned artwork by Bard College students can be found throughout the hotel, and introduces a partnership with the college -the Freehand Fellowship- that will enable select artists to live, work and exhibit within the property.
