Located to the west of Kakadu National Park on the Mary River floodplains in Australia's "Top End", Bamurru Plains is a luxury bush camp and stylish safari lodge. From here, guests can explore the area's wildlife including the world's highest concentration of saltwater crocodiles and more than 230 bird species.
Your very private safari suite is an ideal place to relax and romance. And while it does have an extremely comfortable bed, high pressure shower, and deluxe organic linens, don't look for a TV or internet. There's air conditioning in 3 of the bungalows, which is charged extra. From the private deck, built on stilts overlooking the floodplains, you can watch the bird and animal life. Reading material on the local floral and fauna, a species list and binoculars is avaiable.
All meals served in the lodge building are wholesome and often made from fresh local produce. They are shared communally with guests, guides and hosts in an informal setting.
Behind the main pavilion, guests can enjoy the cooling waters of the infinity pool or relax in one of the two covered areas. The bar is open all day so you can enjoy a crisp white wine, a gin and tonic or sparkling water whenever you wish.
Seasonal Hotel: closed November-May.
