Stout & Co
Kadijken (city centre-East)
The Crowned Hawk brewery stopped making ale at its Hoogte Kadijk plant in Amsterdam in the 1950s, but the red brick building survived the intervening years and after a bit of a wash and brush up it has now become home to Stout & Co bed and breakfast.
• 4 rooms
• Hotel opened: December 2013
• Interiors: Steven Delva & Stefan Bennebroek
• Unique: The brewery is commemorated by the original bronze hawk statue perched atop a towering column at the front of the property, and beer lovers need only travel a few hundred yards to visit a thriving microbrewery at the end of the street, which does tours and everything.
