Just when you thought Santorini’s Caldera Cliffs could not hold any more hotels, comes Solstice Luxury Suites, albeit a very small hotel with just 2 suites and a studio. Located in Oia and perched over 100 metres (350 feet) above the deep blue waters of the Aegean sea it enjoys unobstructed, breathtaking views. Cave style accomodations (sheltered from the summer heat) fuse traditional Cycladic architecture with modern design.
Interiors are covered with white cement screed and ceramic patterned tiles, and paired with customised furniture that seem to flow out of the very rock. Offering total privacy, the units open to a terrace sheltered by a pergola with outdoor furniture and a hot tub. Room facilities include a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a minibar, an electric kettle, and coffee and tea making facilities. Private bathrooms have bathrobes, slippers and complimentary toiletries.
A traditional Greek breakfast with traditional products is served in-suite. There is no restaurant as such, but an array of restaurants and cafes can be found within proximity.
