Farmhouse of the Palms is a design b&b located near São Brás de Alportel in the Algarve, Portugal. The distinctive minimalist interiors complement this 200 year old “monte”, or Portuguese farmhouse. It offers spectacular views of the valley and comes with 5 ultra stylish, spacious rooms with private terraces.


Rooms feature original details and each has up-to-date facilities including air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, Bluetooth speaker, a coffee machine, work desk and a beautiful bathroom with rain shower and complimentary, artisanal toiletries. All rooms have a different lay-out with some sleeping families up to 4. Room number 4 comes with a roof terrace featuring a bed for outdoor sleeping under the stars.

A continental breakfast including fresh fruit, orange juice, pancakes and eggs is served in the garden under the carob tree. There is no restaurant as such (several can be found within a 5 km radius), but a light lunch is available during July and August. Honesty bar.

The stunning garden has a spectacular, black-tiled pool surrounded by a terrace with sun beds. Hammocks and loungers can be found throughout the garden and also in the various lounge areas inside, which includes a small library by the former bread oven.

The DNA: Flemish husband and wife team Frank and Veronique Persyn left busy careers behind to build a life with less stress, less focus on materialism, in order to learn to enjoy the simplicity, tranquility and the outdoors. After a three year search they found Farmhouse of the Palms where they share their dream with a few lucky guests.
