Overlooking the IJ-river, Amsterdam’s Central Station and Amsterdam’s historic city centre, the Sir Adam Hotel is set on the lower floors of the iconic 1971 former Shell office tower. Renamed the A’DAM tower it houses several companies from the music and entertainment industry.
Rooms come with bare concrete walls and floor-to-ceiling windows that hold floating desks and window benches giving guests panoramic views of the city’s skyline. All guest rooms and the singular suite are equipped with Bluetooth-enabled Crosley record players and a collection of vinyl, in addition to a Gibson guitar. Flat-screen TV and bathroom with floor heating and complimentary toiletries.
In place of a traditional lobby, the hotel has The Hub, a co-working space-meets-concept store where guests can listen to vinyl. Sir Adam’s restaurant, the Butcher Social Club, is a burger joint set in a casual living room environment also located on the ground floor. The space includes a large island bar and a riverside terrace, which hosts regular live performances and nightly DJ sets. Fitness centre.
The A’DAM Tower is also home to a mix of shops, cafés, offices, a revolving rooftop restaurant, the LOOKOUT observation deck, the subterranean nightclub Shelter, and at the top of the tower Madam, Amsterdam’s highest nightclub. The rooftop swing sends adventurers flying above the water below.
