Once the official VIP hotel to the Berlin Film Festival, the Hotel Zoo has reopened after a complete two-year transformation on a prestigious location at the beginning of the Kurfürstendamm. Originally the building started life as a private mansion in 1889 and was turned into a hotel in 1911. The now revamped interiors evoke the glamorous Hollywood-style of the 1920s with soaring ceilings and whimsical touches as gold leaf-covered brick walls, and exposed steel work and introduce today’s high tech.
The spacious, high-ceilinged guest rooms and suites mix bohemian Berlin spirit with New York townhouse elegance. They feature bespoke furnishings, luxurious fabrics and contemporary furniture. Room facilities include a desk, a minibar, air conditioning, a safe, a satellite flat screen TV, a telephone and a Nespresso machine. Bathrooms come with double sinks, a tub and/or rain shower, a hairdryer, Maria Margiela bathrobes, slippers and complimentary custom created nail polish set by trendy Berlin brand Uslu Airlines.
At the heart of the hotel is the Living Room with a double-sided fireplace both inside and onto the open-air Winter Garden. At the elegant Grace Bar, local DJ talents spin the weels. A buffet breakfast is served in the stylish carriage-house dining room. The stylish restaurant “Grace” serves a fusion of traditional and exotic tastes. Varied drinks and snacks are served in the 24-hour Galerie Lounge. Rooftop bar.
