Hotel Krafft Basel

Krafft Basel

district: Altbasel

The Hotel Krafft is a stylish design with a mix of modernity and original furniture from the 1950s set in a restored historic building, right on the bank of the Rhine river in Basle. The view of the historical city centre on the other side of the river is breathtaking – be it from the restaurant or from the hotels south-facing rooms. The terrace overlooking the lively river promenade with its Mediterranean flair is an invitation to stay and linger.

The individually designed rooms are distributed between the main building and an annex opposite. They come with designer furniture, a flatscreen TV and a safe. On every floor you’ll find a complimentary water bar with Basler water, tea and fresh fruits. Here you can serve yourself as you please, 24 hours a day.

Hermann Hesse used to stay here writing most of its well-known novel “Der Steppenwolf”

Next to the restaurant in the main building is the wine bar in the annex with salami and cheese specialties and over 100 wines and its own craft beer. An ideal meeting point for lunch, coffee and cake in the afternoon or aperitif in the evening.
