The ski-in, ski-out Rooms Hotel Kokhta is located between the Kokhta-Mitarbi and Bakuriani resorts, a former winter Olympic training in Georgia’s Lesser Caucasus mountain range, a favorite with adventurous skiers and snowboarders, nature lovers and athletes alike for its spruce forests, mineral springs, and volcanic topography. Operated by the Adjara Group which also operates design hotels in the capital Tbilisi and the Kazbegi Mountains.
The building has an angular, futuristic silhouette that contrasts with its more traditional neighbors. The façade covered in slatted oak wood of the low-lying structure however doesn’t distract the onlooker from the beauty of the surrounding landscape. In fact, the architecture encourages guests to admire their environs, with features such as a terrace overlooking the piste and floor-to-ceiling windows. Lodge chic interiors point to the bounteous natural materials and artisanal heritage of the area.
Rooms feature a custom-designed terracotta lamp, a sculptural stone sink, and a “Wild Beam” desk made by local artisans out of salvaged wood.
The hotel offers a beautiful restaurant serving Georgian specialties revolves around an open fire. There is also a rooftop terrace and a lobby library for a glimpse into Georgia’s intellectualism. Ski equipment hire.
