Hotel Revival | Baltimore

district: Mount Vernon

As the site of the Baltimore, Maryland, Museum of Art’s inaugural exhibition in 1923, the Monument Street address that Hotel Revival proudly calls home has a history deeply rooted in art; the 107-room property embracing the building’s storied past whilst contributing a singular and contemporary guest experience to the neighbourhood.

There’s a Revival afoot in Baltimore, as a new luxury boutique hotel draws on its storied past to inform a contemporary guest experience…

With design led by Philadelphia-based SLDesign and renovations by Baltimore’s SM+P Architects, guest rooms reflect how former residents may’ve lived, each featuring timeless art, an experiential mix of antiques, mid-20th century textiles, and a diverse blend of canvases, prints, and ceramics commissioned by local artists and curated by Paradigm Gallery + Studio.

Luxe linens, plush carpets, Jonathan Adler bath amenities and oxidised oak finishes give a luxurious touch; as do custom quilts embroidered with a map of the Chesapeake Bay and spectacular Monument and city views of what is known as Charm City. Collaborations with local small businesses, vendors and individuals allow guests to experience the best of Baltimore without leaving the property. Those that do, though, will find the surrounding neighbourhood bold in spirit and brimming with hospitality.

Rooftop restaurant, Topside, overlooks Mount Vernon, with the menu at the seafood-centric eatery created using produce from local purveyors and sometimes home to local collaborations, pop-ups, and seasonal celebrations; guests and locals revelling together at Hotel Revival. Finish your meal with a cocktail and some rather impressive views before retiring to your room and reviving oneself for another day of authenticity and experience.
