Away from the tourist crowds in Mallorca’s south-east countryside is the boutique hotel Sa Galera. Surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes, the former manor house dates back to the 13th century and has quite some history to tell. Sa Galera is the name of one of the seven fiefdoms into which the Kingdom of Mallorca was divided by King Jaume I when he conquered the island to the Moors. D. Nuño Sanz ran the estate which housed the most important cavalry corps in the island. Today the estate has over 5000 almond trees and houses one of the most important pure Mallorcan horse breeding centres.
All rooms offer air conditioning, heating, minibar, satellite TV, and telephone. Bathrooms come with a hairdryer, make-up mirror, bathrobes and slippers and complimentary toiletries. For families, a casa with two bedrooms, bathroom and a kitchen is available.
The charming restaurant serves breakfast and dinner. The chef will provide you with Mediterranean carefully prepared with quality, fresh products. A great wine cellar and a friendly, yet professional service round off a great evening out. On Tuesdays in summer there is a barbecue with fresh meat and fish.
Enjoy a cooling swim in the outdoor swimming pool and enjoy the view of the attractive gardens from the sun terrace. Several beauty treatments and massages are available. The nearby village of Ca’s Concos, and the towns of Santanyí and Felanitx are definitely worth a visit. There are many wonderful beaches at close range, especially the ones of Cala Mondragó and S’Amarador, which are Specially Protected Natural Areas.

The DNA: The Bonet family -estate owners since 1850- of Bonet Company fame have personally participated in the restoration of the manor. They have been deeply concerned in keeping the original framework and have finally come up with a stylish and charming hotel with twenty rooms, each different in size and with a character of its own.
