Scandic Grand Central Helsinki

Scandic Grand Central Helsinki

The Scandic Grand Central Helsinki has opened its doors after a two year meticulous restoration process of a stunning historic Art Nouveau building, formerly known as the head office of Finland´s railway company, designed by Eliel Saarinen and built between 1909 and 1936. The restoration and transformation process has paid great respect to the protected, highly valued building and was done in co-operation with the Finnish Heritage Agency. The northern wings of the original building are now connected by a modern new building, that utilizes Saarinen’s architecture and design language.
