The DNA: AdAstra is a unique property located on the first floor of an ancestral family mansion (the Marchese Torrigiani lives on the ground floor). Centrepiece is the magnificent terrace of 270m2 overlooking a vast private inner-city park, said to be Europe’s largest. The owners have taken the period features (frescoes, vast chandeliers, fine stucco-work and creaky original parquet floors) and added a quirky yet convincing mix of vintage, up-cyled and reclaimed furniture, objéts and knick knacks from the 50s, 60s and 70s. The result is classy, comfortable and highly original. Complimentary tea and coffee is available all day and there is an honesty bar with wines and spirits for drinks on the terrace.

Suite-Me-Up The air-conditioned rooms (two are located in the garden) come with flat-screen TVs, DVD players and a private bathroom with a roll top bath and bidet. Concierge services are available from 08:00 to 20:00. The breakfast buffet of boiled eggs, fresh fruit salad, locally sourced cheeses and prosciutto, warm pastries and proper Moka coffee is included ✅ in the rate. It is laid out on an ex-optician’s display cabinet in the sunny salon, but most guests head straight for the tables on the terrace.
