NH Collection Amsterdam Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky

Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam

The Vibe: Asian understatement meets Grande Dame from 1855.

The Area: Dam square, from which Amsterdam takes it name – the very heart of the city. The hotel stands opposite the Royal Palace, though no royals live there.

The DNA: The Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky (previously under the NC Collection brand) is the pile of Amsterdam hotels, located right opposite the Royal Palace. A recent overhaul in 1920s style places the lobby lounge at the heart of the property. The Grand Café strives to mix elegant and contemporary elements while holding true to the tradition of European cafés. During the day, the space is flooded with natural light and in the evening, modern chandeliers create a dramatic effect. The Michelin starred White Room, previously named Reflet, now features simple white, ivory and fawn tones that strive to elevate the restored gold and yellow hues of the original elements of the 19th-century building. The Tailor Bar’s ambience is “vintage chic,” featuring leather sofas, blue velvet armchairs, deep-buttoned padded wall, and a specially designed rug depicting a tailor’s cutting pattern. Brand new is the Anantara Spa.

Suite-Me-Up: With 402 rooms and suites, one is spoiled for choice (even with some rear rooms facing the canal), but the 150m2 (1,615 sq ft) Royal Suite lives up to its name with Dam Square and Royal Palace views.
