The DNA: Located in the city centre of the Greek metropolis, and only steps from the Acropolis Museum, Parthenon, Dionysos Theatre and Syntagma (or Constitution) Square, AthensWas is a luxury design hotel set in a apartment building from 2006. The extensive use of Greek marble and walnut pays hommage to the Classic Modernism movement, popular in Greece from the 1950s to 1970s. Spacious rooms come with large private balconies, a rarity in the city. Room facilities include a seating area, a flat-screen TV with cable and satellite channels, an iPod dock and a laptop safe. Bathroom includes either a bath or shower, slippers and a hairdryer. The hotel also has a rooftop bar and restaurant with Acropolis views plus a fitness room.
