The Vibe: Simplicity of nature.
The Area: Set on the shores of Lake Llanquihue near Puerto Varas (half an hours drive) in Chile’s Los Lagos region. It boasts stunning views of the lake and of the Osorno Volcano.
The DNA: Hotel AWA is the brain child of architect and designer Mauricio Fuentes and took ten years to develop. The family owned project was born with the motivation to share the amazing sites and culture that Puerto Varas and the Chilean Los Lagon Region (Lake District) have to offer. The strong architectural concept focuses on highlighting the views of Lake Llanquihue and the impressive Osorno Volcano looming on the other shore. Exposed concrete is mixed with living materials, such as wood and fabrics, all sourced within the Lake District to give a warm and welcoming setting. The hotel’s spa has a panoramic indoor 25-metre pool, a sauna, a hammam and hot tub. Massages and treatments are available upon request. There is also a private beach and a private boat dock on the lake. The restaurant offers regional cuisine sourced from seasonal, local ingredients and drinks are available at the bar. Subject to the season and weather conditions, guests staying at Hotel AWA can also take part in activities offered in the surroundings, such as fishing, cycling, hiking and skiing. The property’s tour desk can help guests to arrange tours and excursions in the surroundings.
