Casa Talìa | Modica, Sicily

The Vibe: Slow living in Sicily.

The Area: A small oasis in the historical center of Modica (UNESCO World Heritage Site), surrounded by a beautiful baroque background. Ideal for a regenerating and relaxing stay in a place which is both natural and cultural: the sea is at short distance as well as the wonderful Sicilan baroque towns.

The DNA: Casa Talìa is an original accommodation facility in the heart of Val di Noto, composed by small houses, restored with natural and typical Sicilian materials, which frame a Mediterranean garden with panoramic views of Modica. The Sicilian word “Talìa” means “Look! Admire!”. Everywhere there is Mediterranean atmosphere, felt through sensations and colours, from West to East. Spending few days in Talìa means to have a holiday in alternation between total relaxation in the garden, historical-artistic itineraries and walks along the desert shores under the Mediterranean sun. The centre of the Casa Talìa is the courtyard, a place for relaxing and open air activities, furnished with deckchairs, hammocks, shower and conversation area. Breakfast is served in the garden under the fig tree or in the breakfast room. It is also possible to have breakfast in the room or on the private terrace.

Suite-Me-Up: All the rooms have an independent entrance from the garden. Great attention has been given to the choice of materials, which are natural, ecological, and, above all, typical of the Sicilian tradition: stone walls, lime plasters, cane roof, stone and polychrome tiled floors. Each room is equipped with air conditioning, safe, satellite TV, telephone, internet access and minibar.
