Less than two hours from Paris, between Chartres and Tours, at the entrance to the Loire Valley is Château de la Barre, a magnificent chambres d’hôtes with luxurious guest rooms and suites, sumptuous reception rooms and fine antiques throughout. It is surrounded by a private, 100 acres park with 16th century dry moat fortifications, its’ own chapel, flower gardens, fountains, and pond. The individually decorated, guest rooms and suites feature beautiful period antiques, oil paintings, tapestries and offer splendid views out onto the vast garden. All rooms have modern, private bathrooms. Breakfast, tea, water and port wine is included in the rate. For those who like to self cater, a cottage and flat are available on a weekly basis.

A number of activities and transfers can be arranged, including golf (3 beautiful courses nearby), horseback riding, and hot air ballooning over the Loire. And of course, many gourmet restaurants and local country bistros are there to discover!
