Es Racó d'Artà | Mallorca

Es Racó d’Artà | Mallorca

The Vibe: Mallorcan heritage meets Zen simplicity in sublime natural surroundings.

The Area: Located on the edge of the National Park of the Llevant Peninsula near the town of Artà in northeast Mallorca. The estate has almost 200 hectares of land with vineyards, orchards, wheat fields and beehives for its own honey production. Many beaches and coves can be found only a few kilometers away. Four 18-hole championship golf courses can be reached within a 15 to 20-minute drive. Palma 85km.

The DNA: The working finca dates back to the 13th century and has passed through different families over the generations, all of whom have been closely linked to the land and have dedicated themselves to agriculture, until, in the 1970s, the island’s tourist boom took hold and many of the old fincas were abandoned. Mallorcans Toni Esteva and Jaume Dánus turned the property into a retreat full of color and texture, unique smells and tastes, sounds of nature, elegant art and minimalist architecture. In addition to classic Mallorcan life, Es Racó D’Artà offers a variety of workshops from culinary, agriculture, handicrafts, meditation and yoga. Alone or in a group, guests can explore the surrounding area on foot, by bike, or on horseback. Afterwards, the spa and wellness area with whirlpool and sauna offers the perfect place to unwind. Ecological and regional diversity can also be found throughout the grounds – in the hotel’s own gastronomic space in the form of traditional Mediterranean cuisine.

Suite-Me-Up: Eight rooms are located in the main house and have historic charm, plus views of crags and valleys, while two standalone casas and 21 casitas (some with private pools) offer more privacy. Decoration is eschewed in favour of a coolly spartan aesthetic – beamed ceilings, masses of whitewash, carpets woven from raw wool and jute, simple furniture – which in no way precludes comfort.
