The Area: The local area is ideal for skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing and fishing. Ski storage is available on site. Grandvalira has the largest skiable area in the Pyrenees, and is one of southern Europe’s leading ski resorts. It was created in 2003, when the resorts of Soldeu el Tarter and Pas de la Casa Grau Roig were connected. Grandvalira is located in the north of Andorra, near the French border. It has a skiable area of 193 km, with slopes of different levels of difficulty. It is suitable for all ages and all types of skier. There is a freestyle zone and a ski school, with specialist instructors and children’s classes. The resort also has a wide range of bars and restaurants.
The DNA: The stylish Grau Roig hotel is a design boutique hotel situated at the foot of the Grandvalira Ski resort, surrounded by the mountains and lakes of the Andorrean Pyrenees. The hotel offers a terrace with fantastic views, free access to the spa with a hot tub, an indoor swimming pool, sauna and Turkish bath. Grau Roig Hotel offers two dining possibilities. ‘La Marmita’ is open for dinner and offers creative cuisine while the lunch time ‘La Vaquería’ specializes in a grilled regional specialties. ‘El Teatro del Vino’ (main photo) boats more than 500 wines, which can be accompanied by creative mountain dishes.
