Hotel Daniel Vienna

Vibe: A hip, industrial chic hotel set in a 1962 modernist office building. A sailboat sculpture, designed by Erwin Wurm, with a twisted hull hangs off the edge of the roof.

Area: Outside the city centre, next to Belvedere Palace and near to Vienna’s Hauptbahnhof (main train station).

The DNA: “Pared-down” is perhaps the best way to describe the Hotel Daniel‘s guest rooms and public spaces (the hotel calls it “smart luxury”). The spaces have an industrial chic character to them, with workshop-like hanging light fixtures, patches of exposed concrete and a decided lack of clutter. Some rooms come with hammocks for snoozing by the window, others with plate-glass walls for taking in the views, and all of them are full of sunlight.

Suite-Me-Up: The Belvedere rooms are the largest, and offer a view of the palace. The Silver Creek Clipper trailer, build year 1952, parked in the front yard can also be rented.
