Hotel Indigo The Hague – Palace Noordeinde

The Vibe: Luxury boutique.

The Area: Located opposite the office/palace of the Dutch Royal Family, located in the heart of The Hague. Noordeinde is a prestigious shopping drag lined with beautiful Art Nouveau buildings. An eclectic array of cafés, bars, restaurants and shops surrounds the hotel, a wonderful location from which to set out and explore the city by foot, bike or tram.

The DNA: Hotel Indigo The Hague – Palace Noordeinde is a boutique-style property, set in the former branch of the Dutch National Bank dating from 1884 in Dutch Neo-Renaissance style. The hotel’s design takes its cues from the building’s unique past with thoughtful details including pop art-style portraits of the Royal family, luxe fabrics and colours, and motifs inspired by The Netherlands’ historic currency, the Dutch guilder. The Brasserie Stocks and Bonds is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Suite-Me-Up: The rooms are all quirky angles, huge original beams, space and warm lighting. They strike a delicate balance between paying homage to the old bank, like the minibar encased in an old safe. The bathrooms are a study in luxury themselves, with black matte taps and white tiles and large walk-in showers that belie the size of the room.
