The Vibe: Typically Brussels, a bit of everything, from Art Deco to Retro-Botanical.
The Area: Between Place Rogier and the Botanical Garden, at the northern fringe of the city centre proper.
The DNA: Freshly renovated, the Hotel Indigo Brussels – City is set in the former Hilton Brussels City, which was built in 1928 as the Hotel Albert 1er in Art Deco style, of which it remains some exterior features. A previous renovation in the 1980s gutted its interiors. Guest rooms feature one of three garden-inspired themes: floral, herbal, and tropical. The room designs mimic what used to be the grand greenhouse in the Botanical Gardens which was also split into the same three climates. Walls and some ceilings in the rooms boast very bold botanic inspired patterns and self-sustaining Pika Plant Jars, the original airtight terrarium.
Suite-Me-Up: Rooms are pretty small at this hotel, so the one bedroomed suite gives you some extra space.
