Kimpton Saint George Hotel Toronto

Kimpton Saint George Hotel | Toronto

The Vibe: A former Holiday Inn, the Kimpton has an artsy, lived-in look brightened by craftsmanship and pieces by top Canadian talent.

The Area: Located between the Annex neighbourhood’s bohemian charm and Yorkville’s affluent sophistication.

The DNA: The 14-storey, 188-room Kimpton Saint George Hotel was designed by local company Mason Studio, who created a sense of place with the reception featuring millwork arches, a fireplace tiled with ceramic inlay, and quirky decorative objects – some found in nearby vintage shops while others were designed by Mason Studio in partnership with local artisans. Guestrooms pay homage to the Annex’s 18th-century heritage houses with custom carpet with a diamond herringbone pattern, a freestanding armoire in natural oak, comfy chairs in yellow velvet, and brass-legged marble side tables. Toronto’s Arts and Objects was tasked with curating this narrative which includes the large-scale mural on the building’s exterior by street artist Birdo, modern wood totems by Djuna Day, and Jen Mann’s watercolour series found on the corridor of every floor. (All of three are of course Torontonians.)

Suite-Me-Up: The Presidential Suite comes with a King Bed, luxurious Frette Sheets, a bathroom with walk-in shower and deep soaking bathtub, separate living area with sofa bed, kitchenette and dining area plus an additional bathroom.
