The Vibe: Avantgarde winery.
The Area: Set amid the rolling vineyards of Langenlois in the Kamptal Valley, Lower Austria, some 80km northwest of Vienna. The Kamptal Valley is known for its quality white wines, especially Riesling and Grüner Veltliner. Also, the hotel is just 10 km from the town of Krems and the UNESCO-protected Wachau Region.
The DNA: Loisium Wine & Spa Resort is a cutting edge design hotel and winery built by Steven Holl. Wine plays a vital role throughout, which is not only reflected in the fine cuisine, but as well in the spa treatments, with a visit to the onsite organic winery (built on 900 year old cellars) or the use of cork throughout the building. The hotel offers superb wellness facilities, a year round heated swimming pool and a wine savvy restaurant.
Suite-Me-Up: Rooms are distributed between the main house, Veltliner and the Pinot House. They offer views of the vineyards through big, floor-to-ceiling windows and come with designer furniture by Wittmann – a family company from nearby Etsdorf. The Suite is 60m² of luxury – spacious, inspiring and creative, complete with rainfall shower, Nespresso machine and a large balcony overlooking the vineyards.
