The Area: Steps away from the beach in Cape May, at the southernmost tip of New Jersey. The entire city is designated the Cape May Historic District, a National Historic Landmark due to its concentration of Victorian architecture.
The DNA: Lokal Cape May, New Jersey, is the third location for the Philadelphia-based “invisible service” hotel chain, founded by Chad and Courtney Ludeman. Located near Convention Hall, the boutique hotel can sleep a total of 28 divided between four, two-bedroom suites and four studios. The hotel’s exterior includes two outdoor showers, a fire pit, outdoor kitchen, and lawn game section.
Suite-Me-Up: Each unit is painted with its own name, taken from Victorian slang terms. Guests can stay in the Afternoonified, Bricky, Chuckaboo, Enthuzimuzzy, Gigglemug, Nanty Narking, Benjo, or Whooperups. Inside, the apartments come fitted with full kitchens, islands, dining areas and living rooms. All rooms have exterior decks and the units on the 2nd floor have ocean views. Turkish towels are provided in each room, inside custom canvas and leather beach totes to be used during a guest’s stay. Complimentary Yeti coolers, ice packs, and tumblers are also exclusive to guests.
