The Vibe: A modernist classic from 1962, the Marski Hotel was recently renovated and themed around “Finnfulness” – the open mindedness, urban lifestyle and love of nature that personifies modern Finns.
The Area: City centre, a 3-minute walk from Helsinki Central Station.
The DNA: The design and interiors of Marski by Scandic are inspired by the outdoors: the dark green Finnish woods, the thousands of lakes and the warm reds of Finnish berries. The hotel’s light wooden floors are paired with grey stone reminiscent of the cliffs in the Finnish archipelago and the furniture is a blend of modern Finnish design and influences from abroad. Guests can view exciting art exhibitions and listen to interesting and coming and established artists and DJs playing, while sipping craft cocktails at the Marski Bar or enjoy Finnish classics with an international twist at the Kuusi Palaa restaurant. Marski has the official Nordic Swan Ecolabel certification with strict requirements regarding limiting consumption of energy, water and chemical as well as source separation of waste.
Suite-Me-Up: In the hotel rooms, Finnfulness and Helsinki are brought to life through images of nature by local photographer Seppo Alanko.
