The Vibe: Scandi Czech.

The Area: Located in Čeladná, among the bucolic forests and meadows and, against a backdrop of the looming Beskid (Beskydy) Czech Mountains.

The DNA: Mezi Plůtky is a design boutique hotel set in a two hundred year old house. The property has been restored by its owner creating a personal and authentic vibe. Original stone floors and timber-beamed ceilings set the tone for a simple, homey design of Scandinavian-style furnishings and free-standing bathtubs in natural materials and a low-key brown, grey and white colour palette. Curated furnishings are by the likes of Karl Andersson Soner, Hay, Ronan Bouroullec, Patricia Urquiola and the bemusing rocking-sheep by Povl Kjer. The public spaces comprises an open plan living room and kitchen, where guests can sit around the fire or the large oak table to sip on Austrian and South Moravian wines or Czech beer while nibbling on light, healthy food using only local ingredients. The breakfast is one of the main attractions with a variety of delicious options including homemade dark bread, jams, local Wallachian cakes and homemade pâté. W. Outside, an old basin was turned into a natural pond. A new barn was built to serve as a summer bedroom and several outside terraces made of ancient rocks and stones.

Suite-Me-Up: There are four rooms at Mezi Plůtky. ‘The Guest’ is located on the ground floor and especially attractive to couples. The other suite ‘The Parents’ (almost a ‘house within a house’, with a high ceiling with wooden beams and can accommodate up to four people) and the two other smaller rooms are located in the attic.
