The DNA: Pura Vida, Costa Rica’s favourite phrase can be enjoyed at Mint Santa Teresa, a stunning modernist tropical paradise tucked into a hall within walking distance from restaurants, bars and the beautiful beach of Playa Carmen. Heart of the boutique hotel is the communal area with an infinity pool and a bar, where at sunset everyone gathers, sharing stories over drinks. Here too, every morning a breakfast buffet (✅ included in the rate) is served.

Suite-Me-Up: Concrete floors clad the serene pavilion-like floors of the rooms -only 5 in total- which offer breathtaking Pacific Ocean views. Scandinavian-inspired (thanks to its Swedish owners) the rooms feature locally made rattan furniture, ceilings made from caña brava (an indigenous grass), open style bathrooms, king size beds and private roof terraces. The deluxe pool room – which was added in 2020 – has a private plunge pool.
