Vibe: Industrial Scandi chic
Area: In the grounds of the former brewery, Carlsberg City, in hip, once seedy, Vesterbro
The DNA: Set in two former brewery buildings, Hotel Ottilia has a distinctive exterior, with 64 giant golden discs adorning the east façade. Original fixtures, such as the malt hoppers in the lobby, have been preserved. A lighting installation runs through the building and modern Danish furniture is set against a dramatic backdrop of 20m-high ceilings, metal girders and white-painted walls. There is an Italian (rooftop) restaurant and a lobby bar specializing in gins.
Suite-Me-Up: The Loft Suites are located in the tower of the building, Malt Magasinet. Round bedrooms and living rooms with large multi-sided turret-windows with amazing light, stucco and refined details give the rooms an exclusive classic characteristic.
