Ovolo Inchcolm Brisbane hotel

The Inchcolm by Ovolo | Brisbane

The Vibe: History meets design.

The Area: Spring Hill at the fringe of the CBD, a two minute walk to the Central Station.

The DNA: Merging original Art Deco architecture with modern art and avant-garde touches, The Inchcolm by Ovolo brings a new breed of eclectic style to the Queensland capital. At the beating heart of the hotel sits the original lift, which was shipped to the space from New York State in 1928 by the Otis Elevator Company. Lovingly restored with a new motor, it’s one of the hotel’s distinguishing highlights –working as a direct nod to its heritage. The hotel has a fine-dining restaurant “Salon de Co.”, and a 1920s-style whisky bar also serving snacks and cocktails. 24-hour gym access.

Suite-Me-Up: Seven room styles, ranging from cosy rooms to the Thomson Suite which includes a four-poster bed and a free-standing bathtub. All rooms come with artworks and bespoke carpets, an Apple TV, an iPad Mini, an iPod dock, a Nespresso machine and a minibar. 24-hour room service.
