Palihotel San Diego

Palihotel San Diego

The DNA: A colourful, nautical reimagination of the historic Hotel St. James (which sat vacant for many years), the Palihotel San Diego represents the LA-based brand’s first foray into the Southern Californian city. Hints of the St. James’ past still remain, including the original 1913 marble staircase and stained glass windows, but the hotel now features a range of amenities that modern travelers appreciate: Bellino Fine Linens, Diptyque bath amenities, Nespresso machines in every room, and Instagrammable interiors. It’s an exciting boutique concept in a city known more for its conventional – and convention-focused – offerings. Coming soon: a first-floor Saint James French Diner, an unpretentious take on brasserie fare by executive chef Casey Lane, known for his work at Venice, CA’s Tasting Kitchen.
