The Rooster | Antiparos, Greece

The Rooster | Antiparos, Greece

The Vibe: Slow living, tiny Greek island style.

The Area: Tucked away amidst the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean, Antiparos is one of the most secluded and exclusive islands in Greece. Its alchemy is restorative and elemental, a destination for those who seek no society but their own. Endued with sheer natural beauty, golden sandy beaches and verdurous landscapes full of ceder trees, Antiparos remains unspoiled. Almost all connections are through Athens by boat or plane to the Paros main island. There it is a short ride to the harbour of Pounda and the 10-minute boat ride will take you to Antiparos. Or arrive in style by helicopter or private jet.

The DNA: The Rooster’s “Wake Up Call” is all about disconnecting from hectic daily life and revelling in the luxury of Slow Living through Sustainable-Local-Organic-Wellness-Fun-Learning-Inspiring-Experiences. Everything is about ease, enjoyment and fulfilment – like waking up to a view of the sea, sharing tasty food prepared with love and care and being affected by the euphoric energy of the island. The story behind The Rooster is as overwhelming as the place itself. More than a resort, it is a life’s project, thoroughly thought-out to the very last detail by an inspiring woman, a true visionary, generous in all respects. Feeling blessed for her own Wake Up Call in a decisive moment in her life, a spiritual awakening and re-evaluation of what is real and what matters, she dreamt of a safe haven for those who aspire to personal growth through travel, art and culture, where happiness can be appreciated in small details and simple pleasures. It is a private oasis of wellness and natural beauty, peaceful and unpretentious, that will reveal the best of one’s self through an unforgettable experience.

The restaurant is the resort’s hub. Here you can enjoy a variety of Greek and international dishes made with organic produce from the own farm. The outside area is reminiscent of a Cycladic courtyard with its trees and flowers, with small pebbles and lights dancing over the tables. The bar is a perfect spot to enjoy unparalleled sea views and sunsets.

Suite-Me-Up: The casual-chic houses are scattered throughout the grounds (with The Farmhouse, a 3 bedroom villa 1,500 metres away from the main property) and are built in a contemporary style with traditional Cycladic architectural details. The lines are sleek and transitional, creating a warm ambience. They offer either garden or sea views, but all come with separate living areas and furnished terraces with private (plunge) pools. In-room dining is available 24/7, plus a wine cooler with a great selection, coffee and tea facilities and bar. Smart TVs are on request only, so you have the option to create your own style of tranquility.

Wellness lies at the core of the Rooster’s philosophy. Sound healing, gong bath session sacred ceremony, spiritual Journey, Greek ceremony of fire and celebration of the elements are just a few of the experiences available. Outside the property, explore the ancient sanctuary Despotiko ruins, take a tour to the caves of the island, wander around the enchanting Antiparos castle, enjoy the Sunset at Sifneiko Beach, dance the night away and stay awake for the sunrise at least once.
