Villa San Michele Hotel Ravello

Villa San Michele | Ravello, Italy

The Vibe: Old School Amalfi Coast. And if these views will not relax you, nothing will.

The Area: Cliffside at Castiglione di Ravello. Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento can be easily reached, but if you are driving here, expect some hair raising pins in the road.

The DNA: Owners Nicola and Rosa Dipino, who hail from the Amalfi Coast, bought this summer private residence of an Italian shipowner in the 1980s. The many Arabesque features of the villa, which was built in the 1950s, comes from the mind of the Turkish architect. Uniquely set, overlooking the Mediterranean and up to the park of the Villa Cimbrone and “La Rondinaia” – once owned by Gore Vidal. The hotel is immersed in delicately lemon and bouganville scented, flower-filled gardens, where to enjoy the utmost in peace and tranquility. A private pathway cut in to the rock leads down to the crystal clear sea below. Here, a sundeck furnished with loungers, deck chairs, and beach umbrellas is the perfect spot where to pass a few hours lulled by the gentle sounds of the sea. Nicola and Rosa, first generation hoteliers, oversee the running together of the albergo with their children and are everyday on the spot to make feel all of the guests like home.

Suite-Me-Up: The simple, but elegant decorated rooms make most of the spectacular views. Just one bedroom does not have a balcony or terrace, but all other 11 have.

✅ free Wi-Fi • size matters: 12 rooms (18-25m2) (194-269 sq ft) ✅ free on-site parking ✅ pets welcome, no charges • 24-hour front desk

For the Amalfi inhabitants who will go to Paradise it will be a day like all the others.
