The DNA: Located in Old Montreal, Hôtel William Gray is set in two historic buildings adjoined by a glass atrium and an eight-floor tower with rooftop terrace. Glass walls and roofs provide bags of light; bold artworks add colour. The Living Room has a trendy high, communal table, but also low chairs for traditionalists. The small bar serves drinks and cocktails. A successful marriage of old and new, the hotel feels smaller than it really is.
