The Area: In the heart of Bordeaux’s historic centre, next to Place Gambetta and Cours de l’Intendance. Saint-André Cathedral and the City Hall are a 15-minute walk.

The DNA: Set in a 19th-century former private mansion, Yndō Hôtel is a designer boutique hotel with an artistic edge offering an intimate atmosphere. The hotel’s interiors read like a who-is-who in design: Joël Cazaux, Damien Langlois-Meurinne, Hubert le Gall, the Campana brothers, the Bouroullec brothers, De La Espada, Edra, Louis Poulsen, Vistosi, Tom Dixon, Knoll, Naoto Fukasawa. Did we forget something Yndō features a fragrance garden and a shaded terrace, where guests can enjoy a chic yet restful stay. Breakfasts and meals are composed of a selection of regional and seasonal produce from the market. Wine tasting or private dining experiences can be arranged upon request.

Suite-Me-Up: Spacious rooms and suites are individually decorated in sleek and neutral tones and feature designer furnishings. Room facilities include air-conditioning, a satellite flat-screen TV, an iPod dock and a Lavazza coffee machine. Two rooms have a terrace on the courtyard while selected rooms have an iPad and a seating area. The elegant en suite bathrooms come with complimentary toiletries.
